Youth in Nyagatare district have made a commitment to fostering development in their community through creativity and innovation in the daily activities.
The youths made the remarks during the graduation of 30 youths who completed a driving school course at Nyagatare Driving School, in Rwisirabo cell, Karangazi sector in Nyagatare district, this January, 2013.
The graduates said that through the acquired driving skills they would be able to acquire jobs and be productive instead of wasting time in idleness and playing card games.
The youth representative, Sam Nyangweso said that this was an achievement since the youth will be able to contribute to the development of the community and form strong labor force instead of being idle and disorderly.
One of the trained youths, James Ndizeye also stated that the acquired skills would enable them to build a bright future and become responsible citizens. He said: I have the opportunity to look for a job with this qualification in driving. This will turn my life around and I have hope of getting employed since there is a big demand for drivers”
The Karanganzi sector official in charge of education, Mukamusoni Beatrice also hailed the driving school for providing an opportunity for the youths to acquire life skills in a short period of time. She said that the sector will promote such initiatives so as to create more opportunity for the youths.
The director of Nyagatare Driving School, Gatare Edson urged the youths to put their skills into proper use and exhibit a high level of service delivery in their work places. He said that the school will expand to more sectors besides Mimuli Karangazi, Rwimiyaga and Musheri sectors- where it has branches.
