The wish of residents of Kamabuye sector to have a market in their community will soon come true, once the new proposed modern market project is completed. The business community says will improve the business and their lives in general.
Local leaders says that residents of Kamabuye sector have patiently waited for long see a modern market and they should be in position to create more business and trade opportunities for social and economic transformation of their community.
Traders says that the new market will be a solution to the problems of rains damaging the goods and reduce the chaotic business operations that were conducted on the bare ground due to lack of proper vending stands.
Some residents have so far foreseen this opportunity and they have already started rehabilitating structures at the trading center houses adjacent to the proposed market – which is also connected to the electricity power lines installed in the area recently.
The new market is part of the development indicators underlined in the district performance contracts of 2012-2013. The market construction has so far covered 70% of the work needed and it is estimated to roughly take four months and cost at least Rwf89millions according the district reports.
The executive secretary of Kamabuye sector, Jean de Dieu Muyengeza says that the market project was initiated as a means of improving the manner in which residents do business and tap on more sources of taxes which was projected in the district development plan for the fiscal year.
In the meantime, a similar market is currently being constructed in a neighboring community- in Musenyi sector as part of the district plan to the business environment through access to markets.
