Business people in the new market operating in the new building at Rusizi town in Kamembe sector Rusizi district want the management to solve their problems in this new building like the shelves some had bought but were given to others and their money was not returned.
The other problem is that of traders who sell their goods in this building don’t get buyers due to the fact that other traders in the neighboring buildings and on streets in Kamembe do sell the same commodities, they demand that all traders be brought to the same building for them to maximize their profits in the same trade.
Consolee who is in charge of registration and people’s problems in Kamembe sector said that it is not possible to remove people who do petty trade in all over Kamembe until the day the general people’s market will be completed.
This new market building was constructed with 4 levels and it started to be operated in on the 1st.Sept.2012 though it is not yet officially inaugurated. Traders did not have operate in it as expected as some traders are afraid of making losses as some traders are doing their work in the corridors and verandahs all over the town. And this is one of the problems that are worrying those working it already.
Ernest Nkurunziza the vice chairperson of the COPIKA Cooperative said that the cooperative is willing to return the traders money but about the problem of other petty traders in corridors and verandahs, they are also affected by it and cannot do anything about it.
This building though it is not yet fully completed, it is worth Rfw900 million and it will be productive for the owners, the traders and the district in general.
