Rulindo district is working on a new program of poverty eradication in a 500 days campaign with the help of local people. It is in this regard that a 5 days training was closed on this Friday the 27th Sept 2013.
The training was attended by all executive secretaries of sectors of Rulindo district, health workers, Intore University graduates and all committees responsible for people’s health. People who were trained will be sensitizing people towards good health through poverty eradication in this 500 days campaign.
Among the topics of this training include voluntary family planning program, malaria prevention, HIV/AIDS prevention, nutrition programs and many others that promote good health in the district’s residents.
Jean D’amour Manirafasha the health official in Rulindo district says the goal of this training was to encourage local people to maintain good health while eradicating poverty in their homes.
“The aim of this training we have been in for days is to completely eradicate poverty in the people of this district. This is in the 500 days campaign of poverty eradication and encouraging good health with all residents participating.”
“Teaching local people about use of family planning and nutrition are one way of helping them eradicate poverty. This is because people with many children tend to be affected by poverty as all they work for is consumed and nothing is saved up for the future” says Manirafasha.
